Vacuum molds

for thermoforming

The process of manufacturing EPS and EPP products is a type of thermoforming. The machines for EPS and EPP production use special aluminum molds with nozzles for steam supply to the forming area. The technological process involves alternating cycles of heating and cooling of the mold. What are the advantages of molds made of porous aluminum?

When making a mold, there is no need to install nozzles and additional tubes for steam supply because porous aluminum is fully permeable in all directions and steam flows evenly directly through the mold and provides uniformity of properties of the resulting product. Also, porous aluminum is indispensable in the manufacture of molds of complex configurations, with areas where it is simply not possible to bring steam. All this leads to a reduction in the cost of the mold and to a reduction in the period of its production.

Due to the fact that porous aluminum has a porous structure and is more than twice as light as solid aluminum, less energy is required for its heating and cooling. The use of porous aluminum in the production of EPS and EPP products can save up to 20% of energy resources and reduce the production time cycle by 10%.
